Yes Thomas Friedman, A Robot Wants Your job!
This past Sunday, Thomas Friedman asked “How Did the Robot End Up With My Job?” In his column, Friedman suggested that the current recession can be blamed on technology and globalization. This arcane way of thinking is being heralded in the caverns of lower Manhattan’s “Occupy Wall Street” chaos. I suppose in the early 1900s, there were also buggy whip merchants that protested the invention of the automobile. I call this way of thinking, “I swear I lost the game because of my racket.”
Markets go up and down, but innovation pushes forward. Robots are now being deployed in large measure in a wide array of industries, and yes, evolving assembly line by displacing humans. However, America’s greatness lies in its ability to re-invent itself with new industries that require human capital. A robot will not replace a free thinking person; it will only aid him to do better. I implore Friedman, and his young misguided recruits downtown, to look through this site and celebrate global creativity.

This overtly manipulative video clip hides the face of its voice with the originality and intelligence of Magilla Gorilla (note: they are mimicking the 2006 movie, “V for Vendetta”). Thomas Friedman’s article embraces this ideology, beckoning the question – is he the man behind the mask?
